Open Doors Weekend is a special weekend in South Australia where you can enter buildings not normally open to the public. It is part of the lead up to History Month.
This easy-paced walking tour takes you inside St Michael’s and St Paul’s Lutheran churches and to the forgotten Lutheran church off the main street, a comfortable distance of 1.5 km down our beautiful avenue of trees.
Understand the reason for the immigration of the Old Lutherans and why they left their homeland to come to South Australia in 1838, (and then Klemzig) to come up to the Adelaide Hills.
Understand the imagery of the churches and the intriguing stories of the village and these special places of worship.
View a never-before-seen special display of the images and photos of pastors in Hahndorf since 1839 (except for one!).
