Tantalise your tastebuds with a not to be missed German experience prior to your walking tour.

This is not a ghost tour and families are welcome.

We need extra lighting so you can bring your own torch or headlight or a lantern will be supplied.

After you have had your delicious meal you’ll need a walk!

Meet your walking tour guide across the road under the verandah of The Manna

to commence your adventure, walking in the steps of the Prussian immigrants.

Tour includes:
Visiting historic locations in the southern end of the village the Germanic architecture will be explained. The immigrants flee from Prussia in 1838 was perilous and full of drama. You’ll hear stores about these settlers of Hahndorf as well as the Pioneer Women’s Walking Trail. Information and fun facts you won’t know without a local guide.

What is to be found under the ‘ol pear tree? It’s not what you expect.

You’ll visit the old mortuary, stone masons, St Paul’s Lutheran Church and other points of interest and intrigue.

German Feast

Hahndorf Walking Tours has partnered with German Spoon restaurant to provide you with a delicious German Feast prior to the tour. Your booking will be made for 6.00pm

If you want to change the time of the meal or have dietary restrictions please contact the staff direct on 08 7280 0086. The German Spoon can cater for vegetarians, vegan etc as well.

Ensure you have your booking details with you when you arrive at the restaurant as proof of payment.

Meal includes:

Starter – German Pretzel with butter

Main course for two people is a sharing platter consisting of 4 sausages- homemade chicken schnitzel, pork neck, homemade mash potato, gurkansalat (cucumber and dill salad) and blaukraut (braised red cabbage)
Main course for a single person is a platter of one authentic German pork sausage, homemade chicken schnitzel, homemade mash potato, gurkansalat (cucumber and dill salad) and blaukraut (braised red cabbage)

Dessert: Apple Strudel with cream and strawberry.

Children’s meals are available and can be ordered at the German Spoon on the night for $9.90.
