The Hufendorf Walking Tour takes you to prominent locations at the northern end the main street, including locations not open to the general public.
The Tour starts at the Hahndorf Academy and then walkers follow the steps of the original Prussians into the Hufendorf (the original layout of the Village), down back streets to see Germanic cottages to which we have exclusive access. Visit the first Lutheran church in Australia, pioneer cemetery and oldest fachwerk cottage in Australia, all built in the 1830’s.
You will hear stories about the early settlers of Hahndorf and their flee from Prussia. Find out stories about the village only the locals know.
Defy ordinary, don’t just wander the main street.
